Hurricane Hunters fly low-level invest

A WC-130J Super Hercules aircraft assigned to the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron skirts the coast of Florida during a low-level invest mission into Potential Tropical Cyclone One June 4, 2022. The 53rd WRS is the only Department of Defense unit to fly weather reconnaissance missions into tropical systems, providing data for forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
