53rd WRS tests new satellite communication capabilities

A WC-130J Super Hercules aircraft assigned to the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron sits on the flightline at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., Oct. 12, 2021. The attachment on top of the aircraft is a satellite antenna the squadron is testing out that will enhance in-flight data transmission capabilities, resulting in more information for forecasters at the National Hurricane Center to work with.
