Mission Support Group leadership visit Civil Rights battlefield

Senior Master Sgt. Tonya Taplin, 403rd Logistics Readiness Squadron plans superintendent, takes a photo of a quote on the wall of the National Memorial for Peace and Justice while walking below the six-foot tall steel columns which hung suspended overhead, each marked with a county, state, and the lynching victims' names, April 9, 2021 during the 403rd Mission Support Group leadership staff ride. Members of the 403rd MSG leadership participated in a non-traditional staff ride, which involves walking a battlefield, only in this case the battle that was fought was the Civil Rights Movement for African Americans in Montgomery, Alabama. The staff ride was intended to provide the leadership team with a better posture in order to have the tough conversations with their Airmen when it comes time to discuss diversity and inclusion and why it plays a vital role in combat readiness.
