The Best Laid Plans

KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss.--During hurricane season, things don't always go as you might expect. Media from two different news outlets were scheduled to fly with the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron during Tropical Storm Fay Aug. 19. The storm veered to Florida sooner than expected, and the flight was canceled since the system had already made landfall. Lt. Col. Jon Talbot, chief, aerial reconnaissance weather officer, interviewed with David Nussbaum from WBRZ Channel 2, Baton Rouge, La., providing a synopsis of what takes place during a typical storm tasking.
