Gumbo Cook-off

Capt. Ivan Deroche, 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron pilot, serves up a bowl of gumbo to Capt. Dennis Walker, 403rd Maintenance Squadron, at the 2010 Gumbo Cook-off during the Saturday Unit Training Assembly. Captain Deroche and his father, Donald Deroche (left), teamed up to win first place for the competition. Proceeds raised from the cook-off went toward the 403rd Wing Key Family Member Program, which is made up of volunteers whose goal is to ensure well-being of family and friends of activated reservists by providing them with information, communication and resources.
