Members of the 43rd Aerial Port Squadron load a Humvee, using a K-loader into the back of an 815th Airlift Squadron C-130J Super Hercules. The 815th AS, or Flying Jennies, conducted formation airdrop training missions at landing and drop zones near Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina, June 28-30. These formation airdrops consisted of dropping personnel from the 82nd Airborne, heavy equipment and high velocity containers. Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters, from the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, took off today from Keesler Air Force Base on their way to Homestead Air Reserve Base in southern Florida prepositioning for an Atlantic storm mission. Timothy Weiher, aircraft commander for the 815th Airlift Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., took the final flight of his 37-year Air Force career through the hills of Tennessee June 21, 2021. Weiher served 12 years on active duty as a B-52 pilot before transferring to the Air Force Reserve where he flew C-130H, WC-130J, and C-130J aircraft for the 815 and the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron.
