Wing leaders recognize award winners, outstanding performers

The 403rd Wing recognized Air Force Reserve Command, Wing Quarterly Award Winners and Inspector General Inspections outstanding performers at the Commander’s Call Sunday.

Air Force Reserve Command Award:

Maj. Kurt Mann, 803rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander, was the recipient of the 2023 Lt. Gen. Leo Marquez Award, Aircraft Maintenance Field Grade Manager award, which recognizes maintenance professionals in the aircraft, munitions, missile and communications Fuels for sustained job performance, knowledge and involvement with generating aircraft sorties.

The 403rd Wing’s First Quarter Award winners:

Senior Airman Nathan Chiasson, 403rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, is the Airman of the Quarter.

Tech. Sgt. Michael Cameron, 803rd AMXS, is the Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter.

Master Sgt. Zachary Zieman, 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, is the Senior NCO of the Quarter.

Capt. Nate Wordal, 53rd WRS, is the Company Grade Officer of the Quarter.

Lt. Col. Stephanie Brown, 815th Airlift Squadron commander, is the Field Grade Officer of the Quarter.

The first quarter civilian award winners, to be announced at the next Civilian All Call, are Jacob Clark, 403rd Maintenance Group, Civilian Category I; Claire M. Brown, 403rd Operations Group, Civilian Category II; and Kendall Dunn, 403rd Operations Support Squadron, Civilian Category III.

The Wing’s Second Quarter Award winners:

Senior Airman Jacques Roy, 803rd AMXS, is the Airman of the Quarter

Tech. Sgt. Martin Vargas, 403rd OSS, is the NCO of the Quarter.

Senior Master Sgt. Alejandro Cano, 803rd AMXS, is the Senior NCO of the Quarter.

Capt. Ryan Rivera, 403rd OG, is the CGO of the Quarter.

Lt. Col. Steven Burton, 403rd OG, is the FGO of the Quarter.

The second quarter civilian award winners are Justin McDonald, 403rd Wing Staff Agency, Civilian Category I; Crystal Register, 403rd Maintenance Squadron, Civilian Category II; and Stacy Huffman, 403rd WSA, Civilian Category III.

Also, a new award category this year, is the 403rd Wing Team of the Quarter, which was the 403rd Wing Chaplain Team: Chaplain (Maj.) Joseph Huffling, Chaplain (Capt.) Christopher Steverson, Master Sgt. John Ables, and Tech. Sgt. Jerry Primes.

Inspector General Inspections recognition:

During the commander’s calls, the 403rd Wing Inspector General Inspections recognized their top contributors to their program.

They recognized their Wing Inspection Team members of the first and second quarter, which were Senior Master Sgt. Spring Walden, 403rd Force Support Squadron, and Master Sgt. Michael Sielke-Meade, 403rd Communications Flight.

They also highlighted several superior performers for their contributions to the readiness exercise, hurricane conditions exercise, and domestic violence exercise. Their top superior performer was Tech. Sgt. Thuy Dang, 41st Aerial Port Squadron.

All award recipients will be honored at the Wing’s Annual Awards Banquet in February 2025.
