The 403rd Wing Spring Fling is May 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Keesler Air Force Base Marina.

The day will include a tour for spouses of reservists beginning at 7:30 a.m. and then the Wing Spring Fling kicks off at 10 a.m.

The plan is for spouses to have the opportunity to tour the 403d Wing's 41st Aerial Port Squadron, 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, WC-130J and the 81st Training Wing's 81st Medical Group. Reservists must nominate their spouse for the event and forms are due to the 403d Wing Public Affairs Office April 13.

After the spouse tour, the Wing Spring Fling will feature a picnic and other entertainment for wing Airmen and their families and friends.

"I am excited about our Wing Spring Fling because our Airmen in the Human Resources Development Council and throughout the wing are making it happen," said Col. Frank L. Amodeo, 403rd Wing commander. "They have taken ownership and their work reflects the pride, agility and teamwork employed throughout our wing...in all we do."

"This event has something to offer for everyone, and will be a lot of fun," said 1st Lt. Brandon Dutton, the executive officer for the 403rd Maintenance Group and project officer for the Wing Spring Fling.

"Airmen should bring their families, close friends or even people they know who may want to join the Air Force," Dutton said.

Entertainment will consist of live music, face painting, games and other fun contests, said Dutton. There will also be a rock climbing wall, bouncy pits, pugil sticks and craft activities for children, he added.

"The annual picnic provides for some well-deserved down time and is my opportunity to say thank you for the dedication and sacrifices made by our Airmen and families," said Amodeo.

Airmen can pay at the event as tickets are not available for pre-purchase, said Dutton. The meal tickets cost $2 for Airmen and $1 for each guest. Reservists who want to nominate their spouse for the tour or need more information on the spouse's tour can call 403rd Wing Public Affairs at 228-377-2056.

Wing reservists may wear appropriate civilian attire to the Wing Spring Fling at the Keesler Marina. Individuals who would like to volunteer to assist with the event or need additional information can contact Dutton at 228-377-4089.
