The 403rd Wing conducted a flyover of local hospitals in Gulfport, Biloxi and Ocean Springs April 28. The fly by was to honor health-care workers, first responders, and essential personnel battling the spread of COVID-19.

Two C-130J Super Hercules from the wing’s 815th Airlift Squadron started the flight path near Garden Park Medical, then continued toward Gulfport Memorial, the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System, the Keesler AFB Medical Center, Merit Health, and past the Ocean Springs Hospital—Singing River Health System.

“This is our way of saying thank you to our community’s medical professionals and honoring the efforts of all the heroes in the fight against COVID,” said Col. Jeffrey A. Van Dootingh, 403rd Wing commander.

Gulf Coast residents were able to see the flyover from the safety of their homes, while those working were able to go outside to see the C-130J Super Hercules go over.
