KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Although COVID-19 has postponed the Unit Training Assembly, wing members can still maintain their resiliency and readiness through several telework options.
The 403rd Wing is hosting live resiliency training via Zoom, May 2 and 3. Wing Performance Process Manager Chief Master Sgt. Monte Snyder is teaching the sessions.
“What better time to leverage online capabilities and utilize a telework option for (Unit Training Assembly) credit,” said Snyder. “The benefits of this training are learning about resiliency and getting credit for it.”
The sessions will be split into two days and each session will be approximately four hours with breaks. Training will be broken up into three modules covering eight skills that include, but not limited to: Values and Strengths, Bring Your Strength, Resilient Thinking, Celebrate Good News, Focus and Attention, and Physical Attention.
Snyder said the goal is to continue building resiliency and create an engaging telework opportunity for Airmen. To register for the course contact Snyder at monte.snyder.1@us.af.mil.
Wing members can also complete Total Force Awareness Training courses found in the Advanced Distributed Learning Service or Joint Knowledge Online websites that require username and password or a common access card to login.
There are also Continuous Process Improvement courses such as Green Belt eLearning training opportunities, which can be found on CPI portal homepage site upon registration, said Snyder.
“Training is available for all Reserve Citizen Airmen and civilians and once enrolled, students can get started the same day and proceed at their own pace or what is set in the course schedule.”
The Air Force CPI program, once known as Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century (AFSO21), leverages Airmen innovation and new technologies to create a continuous cycle of process improvement. One of CPI’s initiative is Green Belt, which was created in the commercial sector and harnessed by the Air Force to find better ways to accomplish the mission.
“Anyone can attend, so as a reminder, please check with supervisor, and your unit leadership for telework, tele-credit for UTA periods and UTA pay,” said Snyder.
