The 403rd Wing is taking proactive steps to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 to safeguard our workforce. We are committed to continuing our essential missions: readiness for deployments and conducting the weather reconnaissance mission.  Travel from outside commuting distance is only authorized for these two essential tasks, and activities not in support of this are cancelled, postponed, or significantly curtailed.  UTAs are not cancelled, but if you are outside of the local area I have approved liberal unit training reschedules and excusals, so please work with your commander and supervisor.

Unit members who have the ability to telework should coordinate with their unit leadership to see if this is an option. As a reminder, Desktop Anywhere, which utilizes a user’s personal computer, a valid Air Force CAC, and installed software is the Air Force Reserve’s preferred method for telework/telecommute. To download Desktop Anywhere, CAC into the AF Portal, type “Desktop Anywhere” in the search bar in the upper right-hand corner and carefully follow the detailed installation instructions.

To keep up to date on this ever evolving situation, please keep in contact with your unit leadership and visit our 403rd Wing Facebook page, AF Connect App or the wing website, www.403wg.afrc.af.mil, or Keesler Health COVID-19 site at https://www.keesler.af.mil/Health/

The Air Force also has a site with great information at: https://www.af.mil/News/Coronavirus-Disease-2019/

Although COVID 19 is a different type of adversary than we normally face, I’m confident TEAM KEESLER will meet the challenges head on and that we will prevail as we always have!

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and willingness to overcome.
