It "pays" to be a team Published Jan. 19, 2012 By Maj. Heather Newcomb 403rd Wing Public Affairs Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. -- Honesty, discipline, professionalism and dedication ... these four words were the key factors considered during Air Force Reserve Command's 2011 search for the top Financial Analysis Office. The search ended with the 403rd Wing's finance team being named the AFRC 2011 Financial Analysis Office of the Year. "I enthusiastically accept the Financial Analysis Office of the Year Award with a heart of gratitude and appreciation for the outstanding work accomplished in our office," said Ms. Glenda Woodard, the Wing's chief of financial management. Through an effort led by Woodard, the office initiated a group called Support Team Members in order to instill teamwork and cooperation among the entire staff. "Winning this award is confirmation that we can accomplish great things by working together," said Woodard. "This team demonstrates an unfailing diligence and total dedication to excellence in their particular area of expertise." That dedication to excellence has always been apparent to the Wing's commander, Col. Jay Jensen, and he was proud to learn the office was recognized. "I could not imagine a more deserving section then our financial analysis office," said Jensen. "This prestigious award helps recognize the 403rd Wing as tops in their field." The members of the office serve as technical advisors to the wing commander, group commanders and resource advisors, and contribute directly to operational readiness and mission accomplishment. "This significant accomplishment reflects not only the experience of our 2011 team, but also the leadership guidance to help achieve this status," said Jensen. "I am exceptionally proud to have the command recognize this small but key office in our wing."
