KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The 403rd Wing Employer Appreciation Day is Nov. 2, and the deadline for reservists to nominate their employers is Sept. 13.
The event provides employers of reservists an opportunity to see what their reservists do for their unit and Air Force Reserve as well as learn about some of their accomplishments as a Reserve Citizen Airman.
Employer Day is a great event that provides employers with a better understanding of the Air Force Reserve and what Citizen Airmen do to contribute to their nation’s defense, said 403rd Wing Commander Col. Jeffrey A. Van Dootingh. “Employer support is vital to mission accomplishment.”
The employers will be given the chance to observe reservists in action during a Unit Training Assembly weekend during a tour of the wing. They will get the opportunity to fly on a C-130J Super Hercules aircraft and learn about the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program, the goal of which is to gain and maintain a positive cooperative relationship with civilian employers.
Nomination forms will be emailed to 403rd Wing members. To nominate an employer, send the nomination forms to the 403rd Wing Public Affairs Office at 403WG.PA2@us.af.mil.
