KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The 403rd Wing recognized its quarterly award winners for the July 1 through Sept. 30 award period during the December 2017 unit training assembly. Winners were chosen in the Airman, noncommissioned officer, senior NCO, company grade officer and civilian categories.
Airman of the Quarter – Senior Airman Laborian Jones, 403rd Aeromedical Staging Squadron. Jones prepared various medical training scenarios in which he also participated and safely delivered more than 200 simulated patients for 20 training missions with no mishaps. He also pursued educational goals for his Practical Nursing/Allied Health Sciences Community College of the Air Force degree.
NCO of the Quarter – Tech. Sgt. Taylor Ford, 403rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. As a dedicated crew chief, Ford prepared aircraft for 23 sorties. He also completed 41 credit hours towards his Aviation Maintenance Technology Community College of the Air Force degree. In addition, he volunteered 200 hours of his time helping with the Tent City Project and assisted with food collection for approximately 600 homeless people.
Senior NCO of the Quarter – Senior Master Sgt. Stacey McDonald, 403rd Aeromedical Staging Squadron. McDonald was recognized for training her successor on short notice, ensuring a sound transition. She also was certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt, fusing personal and organizational objectives to promote diligence and quality in her squadron. She also serves as an active member of the 403rd Wing First Sergeants Council.
CGO of the Quarter – Capt. Michael Plash, 815th Airlift Squadron. Plash commanded a mission to airlift cargo to Houston, Texas, in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, opening the way for future relief missions. He also donated food and drinks for a large-scale deployment program.
Civilian of the Quarter – Mark Meyers, 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron. Meyers coordinated pre-deployment training for 127 403rd Wing members, ensuring these member were fully deployment ready. He also serves as a volunteer coach for Ocean Springs youth football league, working to develop sportsmanship and teamwork.
