KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The 403rd Wing announced its quarterly award winners for the April 1 through June 30 award period during a commander’s call Sunday. Winners were chosen in the Airman, noncommissioned officer, senior NCO, company grade officer and civilian categories.
Airman of the Quarter – Senior Airman Christopher Townsley, 803rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Townsley trained two other members on fuel services operations raising the shop qualifications by 10 percent. He also volunteered more than 30 hours with Feed my Sheep homeless shelter preparing meals for 200 people.
NCO of the Quarter – Staff Sgt. Bret Christofferson, 41st Aerial Port Squadron. Christofferson was selected to represent the 403rd Wing in the Air Force Reserve Command Port Dawg Challenge and helped the team finish in 10th place. He also volunteered more than 20 hours during the first Veteran’s Games in Biloxi and 8 hours with the Mississippi Special Olympics Summer Games.
Senior NCO of the Quarter – Senior Master Sgt. Steven Dahl, 803rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Dahl coordinated the 803rd AMXS’s participation in the Normandy D-Day commemoration which led to 95 flight hours and 91 troop drops. He served as treasurer for a middle school girls’ soccer team, helping raise funds for equipment.
CGO of the Quarter – Capt. Paul McComas, 403rd Operations Support Squadron. McComas led a group of intel analysts during exercise Green Flag, overseeing 267 pre-mission briefs in nine days, which led to 278 airdrops. He also lead a Biloxi beach cleanup team assisting with pickup of more than 600 pounds of trash.
Civilian of the Quarter – Jesse Tibo, 403rd Operations Support Squadron. Tibo was also part of the intelligence analyst team for Green Flag and helped provide aircrew members with any threats their mission may have, which led to 403rd aircraft moving 506 tons of cargo and 130 passengers. He also embraced the “Revitalizing the Squadron” focus by refining 17 ideas through the Air Force Portal.
