Lieutenant Colonel Lisa L. Breal

Lt. Col. Lisa L. Breal is the Commander of the 403rd Mission Support Group, 403rd Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. She leads more than 400 Reserve Citizen Airmen and civilians in four squadrons and one flight who provide peacetime and wartime agile combat support for the 403rd Wing, 22nd Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command and Air Mobility Command. The 403rd MSG provides security, communications, logistics, personnel management, and information management programs for the 403rd Wing’s more than 1,500 Reserve and civilian personnel.

She commissioned in 2004 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 432, University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, Miss. before she entered active duty as a Public Affairs Officer in 2005. In 2006, she deployed to Balad Air Base, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During her deployment, she served as the Deputy Public Affairs director of the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing.

In 2007, Lt. Col. Breal transitioned from regular Air Force to the Air Force Reserve, later joining the Air Reserve Technician program in 2009. Throughout her career she has held multiple positions at the unit level, to include executive officer, force support operations officer, later becoming the 403rd Force Support Squadron commander. She also worked as the director of inspections at the 403rd Wing, before taking an Active Guard Reserve position as the Chief of Special Inspections Branch at Headquarter Air Force Reserve Command at Robins Air Force Base, Ga., in which she provided Air Force Inspection System oversight and guidance to AFRC’s 37 wings, eight Direct Reporting Units, three Numbered Air Forces, HQ Air Reserve Personnel Center, and the Force Generation Center. Additionally, she worked as the Force Integration Branch chief at HQ AFRC, where she led a team of 13 military and civilian members ensuring successful program management of AF Reserve force support units and commander’s support staffs. She most recently served as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee in the Force Management Division, Directorate of Personnel, Headquarters Air Force Reserve (AF/REP), Pentagon, Va., providing direct support to the AFR Space Policy & Integration program, specifically serving as a liaison between AFR higher headquarters and various organizations such as the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Air Force, Headquarters Air Force, and the United States Space Force to facilitate information sharing, legislative drafting, and policy development.
