Flying Jennies

These are three versions of the 815th Airlift Squadron patch as it has evolved since 1944. The current version is on the bottom left. The white square with the cloud base represents the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. The Jenny, a pack mule, symbolizes the speed and agility with which the squadron accomplishes its airlift mission. An 815th Airlift Squadron aircrew poses with former members of the 815th Troop Carrier Squadron (Medium) who were part of the 483rd Troop Carrier Wing at Ashiya, Japan. Lt. Col. Jeff Ragusa, on the left, is the 815th AS assistant director of operations and was a guest speaker for their reunion at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Sept. 12, 2015. The 815th T.C.S members have been meeting since the 1980s. These squadron members flew the C-119 Flying Boxcar and transported troops, supplies and equipment to Korea and evacuated casualties from there. (U.S. Air Force photo)
