Erin Loyd sings her heart out in the talent show at the 403rd Wing Family Day. She placed first after a crowd winning performance. Erin beamed as Colonel David Konneker handed her the first place trophy. The rest of the competitors placed as follows: Second- Kayla Destephani, Third- C.J. Destephani, Honorable Mention- Candy Loyd and Erica Baily.

Tech. Sergeant Alonzo Riley forces one more lift at 230 pounds in a weightlifting competion. Tech. Sgt. Riley won first place with 22 lifts. Weightlifting was one of the many activities held at the 403rd 2009 Family Day.

How "Tweet" It Is!

Major Chad Gibson, chief of Public Affairs, "tweets" about the Air Force's first-ever media day flight for internet bloggers as participants blog in the background. Bloggers from across the nation flew on the WC-130J Hurricane Hunter aircraft, learning about the Reserve weather mission. This pioneering event was the first of many hosted by the 403rd Wing focused on new media.

More than 200 kids from Pass Road Elementary school in Gulfport, Miss., packed into the library May 6 to watch as members of the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron and the 815th Airlift Squadron signed their names on a wall size mural painted in honor of their service. We wanted to dedicate this mural to you guys because you are our heroes on the Coast. You?ll like Hollywood; these kids hear about you all the time, but they never get to see you. Just two weeks into his new job as the Air Force Reserve Command's vice commander, Maj. Gen. Martin Mazick visited reservists from the 403rd Wing for a town hall meeting May 2 at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. The general discussed the Air Force budget, the association program, manning levels, suicide prevention, the new AFRC command chief and the future of AFRC. Later that day, General Mazick was the guest of honor at the promotion ceremony for Brig. Gen. James Muscatell, 403rd Wing commander.
